27th May – arms/underarms stage two
Today I went in for my second instalment for my laser hair treatment on my arms and underarms.
I had a different woman this time. She was so sweet and even had good taste as she liked my shoes and my rolling stones earrings.
So at this point I was feeling pretty good about myself.
She started with my underarms first, I was actually surprised about how much it hurt, because the first time I had it done I didn’t really feel anything. Oh but my lady folks…this was just the beginning.
Maybe all this blogging of my occurrences made me feel somehow more prepared about my next treatments to come, but I now realise it doesn’t really work out that way.
She then started on my lower arms and from my first treatment I remember how it can be painful around the bone area so I tried to ‘woman up’.
As she began it kinda hurt and I was thinking to myself, is it the bone area all ready? I then kinda noticed the pain wasn’t stopping and I then realised it was going to hurt like this throughout.
So as she moved to do my hands, I was thinking if my arms actually hurt this time round, imagine my hands as it was quite painful before, so yeah it was painful there also.
As she moved to my upper arms, I felt kinda relieved as that area is not entirely bony. But with the way the laser was treating me this time, I didn’t know what to expect.
At this point it was becoming a highlight as it did not hurt as much.
Because of some reason, we had to move out of our room to another. I didn’t mind as it kinda gave me time to calm down from having one arm done.
As I as getting up I looked at my hand and parts of my arm and noticed only what I can describe as a bubbly reptile like appearance that has surfaced on my skin…I kid you not! * Oh what a sight!!!
I asked the woman if this was normal, and she said it was. It’s just my hair follicles have inflamed. She said she sees it as a good reaction as it means it is working and reaching the root of the hair.
I then realised it makes sense as the first treatment only goes half way down to your hair and then onwards it starts to reach the root.
She said once she has finished doing my other arm the follicles will go back to normal, which was a major relief.
Even though it was an awful sight to look at I couldn’t keep my eyes off my hand just waiting for it to go away, but I soon began to look away because it was quite repulsive.
Well we moved onto my next arm. It seemed to go much quicker, possibly because I just wanted to go beyond the pain.
I told the woman it was quite strange that all of this is happening when I didn’t even so much go red last time (minus the burns incident). She said it was, especially since they haven’t even boosted up the heat temperature…I dread to think how that will feel now!!
I often feel cold when having the treatment done from the cold air of the machine gun that helps cool your skin. It makes you get goosebumps which is kinda freaky as those goosebumps are your hair follicles that you are attacking.
It is normal to go red afterwards. It has been a few hours and when I look at my arms all my hair follicles are red and it’s a strange thing as you can actually see how many follicles you have.
* Sorry I didn’t take any photos, my brother has taken my camera while he is away…dam brothers. But ill try to get some of my legs if anything peculiar happens (which I hope isn’t the case).
